Mr. Hasan Tarek
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Hasan Tarek has been joined Eastern Insurance Company Limited as Chief Executive Officer which had been approved by the Insurance Development & Regulatory Authority (IDRA)–vide it’s letter No. 53.03.0000.052.11.009.23.67 dated 01.10.2024 with effect from October 01, 2024. Mr. Tarek obtained his Masters Degree in Management from University of Dhaka. He started his career in the Insurance Sector with Express Insurance Company Ltd. as General Manager. Following his tenure at Express Insurance Co. Ltd. he joined in Continental Insurance in 2003 as Sr. Vice President. Sequentially he joined in 2010 at Crystal Insurance Co. Ltd. as Deputy Managing Director. Once more time in 2012 he joined at Continental Insurance Ltd. as Executive Director. In Continental Insurance Company ltd, after a number of promotions, he took his charge as Chief Executive Officer (C.C). In 2021 he got approval from IDRA as CEO of Continental Insurance Company Ltd. After passing long time and deep association with the Insurance Industries, Mr. Tarek has gathered sound knowledge and vast experience in insurance business related to Management & Administration, Underwriting, Re-insurance, and Marketing areas. He has attended various courses, Seminars, Workshops both locally and internationally, gaining knowledge, experience and expertise in Insurance and other field of Marketing and Human Resource Management. He has also a good deal of contribution towards various social welfare activities.

Management & Retention, Silence Skill, CPR, JCI & Team Work. She has also attendant various program
on Risk Management and Controls, Portfolio Management & Security Analysis, Her dedication, her

Mr. Sujoy Kumar Biswas, FCA
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Mr. Sujoy Kumar Biswas, FCA has been serving with this company since July 2023 as a Chief Financial Officer. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh. He has completed Advanced Certificate in Business Administration (ACBA) from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dhaka University. He has more than 20 years’ experience in Multifarious Organizations including MNC. He registered with the National Board of Revenue as an Income Tax Practitioner and an active member of professional club limited. He Has around 22 years of experience in the Insurance Sector. He has been serving in the Company since 2022. Mr.Md. Iqbal Mahmud
Chief Executive Officer (C.C)

Mr. Md. Iqbal Mahmud is the Chief Executive Officer (C.C) of Eastern Insurance Company Ltd. His educational qualification of higher degree from a reputed University. He joined in Eastern Insurance Company Ltd. and has been serving since 1993. He is very much hard working, sincere and dedicated Executive. Due to this reason, he was promoted to the rank of different higher grades gradually and finally he is holding the position of Chief Executive Officer (C.C). He has around 31 years of experience in the Insurance sector. Mr. Iqbal has been engaged with various social welfare activities. At present, he is the General Secretary of Patuakhali Jila Samity, Dhaka, Vice President of Mirzagonj Upzila Kallayan Samity, Dhaka and the Secretary of Pankouri Owners Association. He is an active member of Lions Club. Mr. Iqbal has travelled all over the world and has attended various courses, seminars, workshops both locally and internationally.

Mr. Mohammad Tofazzal Hossain, FCA (ICAB), CPA (Ireland), CPFA (CIPFA-U. K), is an Independent Director of Eastern Insurance Company Ltd. Mr. Hossain is also a Director of Bangladesh Industrial Finance Company Limited (BIFC). Currently, he is the Managing Partner of Hossain Chowdhury & Co., Chartered Accountants. He has over 30 years hands on experience, both at home and abroad. Mr. Hossain worked as an International Civil Servant with UNDP, UN-Women, and UNHCR in a number of countries, such as Sudan, Afghanistan, South Sudan, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh as the Head of Finance, Operations Manager and Head of oversight. He also worked as Director of Finance, Head of Finance & Accounts, Manager-Audit and several other important positions and contributed to the betterment of the organizations/companies. He has developed business process, SOPs and different polices and introduced system and procedures for different companies/ organization. Mr. Hossain conducted huge number of capacity assessments for different organizations and identified capacity gaps including developing of capacity development plan as well as conducted training. Mr. A.S.M. Waheeduzzaman, Independent Director as well as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eastern Insurance Company Limited. He was born on January 2, 1964, in Jamalpur district, Bangladesh. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Dhaka in 1989. He started his career with IFIC Bank and was promoted to the rank of the Senior Officer in 1994. Thereafter, he joined BCS (Tax) Cadre as an Assistant Commissioner of Tax in 1995. From the very beginning of career in the Tax Department, Mr. A.S.M.Waheeduzzaman executed his responsibilities with integrity, sincerity and competence resulting which, he was sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on deputation in August 2002 and after work there for 2 years with fame, he was instructed to join Bangladesh High Commissioner in Brunei Darussalam as Second Secretary. After 02 months, he was promoted to the rank of the First Secretary there. During the tenure of four and half years in
Bangladesh High Commissioner in Brunei Darussalam, he was entrusted with the responsibilities to look after various important assignments of the mission like consular duties, employments & welfare of Bangladesh peoples, and making bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Brunei stronger. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated utmost honesty, dedication, and competence in fulfilling his responsibilities. In November 2011, he joined the Embassy of Bangladesh in Tashkent as the First Secretary &got promoted to the rank of Counsellor. During the tenure of three and half years in Tashkent, he is concurrently accredited to other three countries namely Afghanistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan. During the tenure of his 03 mentioned countries, his role was highly appreciated among the diplomatic corps and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka.

After successful completion of his tenure in Tashkent, he came back to Bangladesh and joined his parent department in July 2015 with due promotion to the rank of Additional Commissioner of Taxes. And then, obtaining a promotion to the rank of Commissioner of Taxes, he was retired from service in the Tax Appeal Zone, Khulna. Mr. A.S.M Waheeduzzaman earned his MBA with major in Healthcare Management and got his higher education in the same field from the Westminster University , London in 2012-2013.

He has written sixteen books on healthcare management and earned lot of appreciation of these from many eminent personalities, organizations & peoples of Bangladesh. Throughout his career, A.S.M. Waheeduzzaman has represented Bangladesh in various international fora in Germany, South Korea, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, Abu Dhabi, the United Kingdom, the United States, Turkey, Italy, and Ghana. During his visits to these countries, he gained direct experience in healthcare management and hospitals. He is blessed with a
daughter and a son.

Mr. Mahmud Hasan, Deputy Managing Director of Eastern Insurance Company Limited, has an entranced Presence in the Insurance Sector from last 20 years after completing his Post Graduation from a reputed University. Mr. Mahmud has worked in many departments of Insurance and has taken up many responsibilities that includes Chief Financial Officer and Head of Internal Audit in well-known Asia Insurance Co. Ltd., Standard Insurance Co. Ltd. and Union Insurance Co. Ltd. He maintained corporate strategic alliance with multinational companies for insurance business. Besides that, he engages as a Member Secretary of Rotary Club of Lalmatia as well as other social organizations.

Mr. Moniruzzaman

Mr. Moniruzzaman got his Masters with Hon’s in Political Science from Dhaka University. Thereafter, he joined in BCS (Admin) Cadre, Botch-1985. He Served as Asstt. Commissioner, Upazilla Magistrate, UNO, CEO of Zilla Parishad, Chief Revenue Officer of Dhaka (Greater) City Corporation. He also worked as Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary in different Ministries and Divisions. After successful completion of more than 30 years in both Field Administration and in the Ministry, he retired from Govt. Service and recently joined in Eastern Insurance Company as Senior Consultant.

Mr. A.K.M. Yakub Sattar Chowdhury joined in the Eastern Insurance Company Limited on October 2010. Before joining he worked with Agrani Insurance Company Ltd., Strategic Consulting Group (SCG), Hope Agro Industries Ltd., Syntrace Ltd., Bogra Metal Engineering Entrepreneurs Group (BMEEG), Bogra Metal Enterprises Development Project (BMEDP), National Association of Small & Cottage Industry of Bangladesh (NASCIB), Resource Exploration for Local Employment And Social Enhancement” (RELEASE) a Local NGO. He was “Deputy Assistant Director” of Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) under the Ministry of Defense. Mr. A. T. K. M. Ismail

Mr. A. T. K. M. Ismail is the Independent Director of Eastern Insurance Company Ltd. He is BA (Hons.), MA in Economics from Dhaka University, completed one year Post Graduate Diploma in GIS (Geographic Information System) from the International Institute of Aerospace Survey and Earth Sciences. The Netherlands in 1989 and also completed Post Graduate Diploma in Population Sciences, Dhaka University in 2009. Mr. Ismail is a Retired Secretary of the Government of Bangladesh. He is the Chairman of the Board of Audit Committee of Uttara Finance and Investments Limited. Mr. Ismail attended Food Administrators Course at the Canadian International Grains Institute, Winnipeg, Canada, attended Procurement Management training from the International Training Center of ILO, at Turin, Italy and training on Managing at the Top (MATT) from Birmingham University and the UK Civil service College. Mr. Ismail is a vastly experienced person in Manpower and Labour sector (Headed the Labour Wing of the Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait), experienced in Procurement, experienced in Administration of Criminal Justice and also experienced in Environment and Geographic Information System (GIS)

Ms. Tajrina Mannan is a Director of the Board of Directors of Eastern Insurance Company Ltd. being nominated by Alpha Textiles Ltd. she has completed her Bachelor of Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston, with a concentration in Finance and Entrepreneurship. Tajrina moved on to working for Street Bank as Fund Account, and after at State Street Global Advisor for Capital Planning and Marketing. In 2012, she moved from Boston to NYC, where she took on the job of business Development for BI Intelligence at Business Insider, Digital News Platform. She has also been a Director at Sunman Global Express, a money remittance company in NY since May 2012.
